Where the data comes from
Yatri Trade uses public records from IP India and files that your firm or the platform administrator uploads.
| Source | What it provides | How often |
|---|---|---|
| Trade Marks Journal | Every advertised application: number, class, filing date, owner, address, applicant type, goods and services, office and the mark itself | Every week |
| Registry notices in the journal | Marks registered, registrations renewed and the date, renewal notices sent, marks removed for non-renewal, new owners and changed addresses | Every week |
| Oppositions register and opposition pages | Oppositions, their status and decision, and the Registry's letters | Every Monday for the whole register, your cases first |
| Hearing boards | Upcoming show cause, opposition and post-registration hearings | Every night |
| e-Register | Live status of an application | When your firm connects with an OTP |
| Uploads | Your client lists, and e-Register exports loaded by the administrator | When uploaded |
Yatri Trade is not connected to the Trade Marks Registry and does not file anything for you. Check important dates against the Registry's records.
Some records are shared by every firm and some belong only to yours. Choose an item to see why.

Status and valid-until date
After a mark is advertised, Yatri Trade follows it through the notices printed at the back of every journal. When the Registry lists it as registered, its status becomes Registered and its Valid up to date is ten years from the filing date. Each renewal moves that date ten years on from the renewal date. A mark struck off for not being renewed shows Removed. A mark that is being opposed shows Opposed, and one whose applicant never answered the opposition shows Abandoned.
These dates feed the renewal reminders in Compliance. Open any mark to see its Registry history: every notice about it, with the journal it appeared in.
How complete it is
Yatri Trade keeps one shared list of trademarks for all firms. It grows from each new journal, from older journals added a few each night, and from e-Register data loaded by the administrator. The size of the list is shown on the dashboard.
Logo marks have no text in the journal. Yatri Trade reads the words in the logo where it can. Where it cannot, the mark is listed without a name. Every logo is also compared by its picture, so journal watch can still find logos that look like yours (see Journal watch).
From October 2026 the journal no longer prints the agent or attorney of each application. Marks from those journals show no attorney until the e-Register record is loaded, so searching by attorney and syncing your portfolio from attorney codes only find them later. Agent codes were never printed in the journal; they come from e-Register data.
For the platform administrator
In Settings, Data shows the size of the shared lists and lets the administrator:
- import trademark data from e-Register exports (.xlsx, .xls or .csv),
- import the oppositions register (.csv or .csv.gz),
- start adding older journals, back to January 2014, with Start archive backfill. Several journals are fetched at once, and the full archive takes about a day,
- read the Registry notices of every journal since 2014 with Read notices of all journals. This runs in the background for several hours and then keeps going by itself, a few journals each night, until every journal is read,
- bring every opposition in the register up to date with Refresh all oppositions. A full run takes about two hours, and the page shows how many were checked in the last seven days,
- read IP India's hearing boards straight away with Read hearing boards now, instead of waiting for the night. It takes about two minutes,
- read logos straight away with Read logos now: the logos of journals already on the server, and the logos of portfolio marks that do not have one yet. The first run reads every journal on the server and takes about an hour. After that it runs by itself every night.
You do not need to do anything after new data arrives. After each new journal, each night's older journals and each Monday's register check, Yatri Trade adds to every firm's portfolio the applications filed under its attorney codes and names, and opens a case for every new opposition against its marks or filed by its attorneys. Sync portfolio from attorney codes and Sync oppositions from the register are still there if you want to do it straight away, for example right after you add an attorney code.
